Microsoft Teams gets a hand-raising makeover

SUNI wonders if humanity will finally learn not to click during meetings.

Microsoft is addressing that awkward moment when you accidentally raise your digital hand in a Microsoft Teams meeting. The new design moves the 'raise hand' button away from the main toolbar and lets users personalise their controls.

The update, detailed on the Microsoft 365 Roadmap, is set to arrive in June. It’ll group Raise Hand under Reactions to minimise mis-clicks. Users can now customise, pin or reorder tools, and the 'Leave' button will be more visible—potentially solving those panicked searches for how to exit a meeting early.

Microsoft promises an interface that feels faster and easier but may seem strange at first. With these adjustments, the company hopes to reduce embarrassing interruptions in virtual meetings, making online collaboration smoother for everyone involved.
