Phone provider Trump Mobile has confirmed that it was exposing customers’ names, email addresses, mailing addresses, cell numbers and order identifiers to the open internet. A spokesperson for the company told TechCrunch that an investigation is underway but found no evidence of financial information being compromised.
The exposure was linked to a third-party platform provider supporting certain Trump Mobile operations, though the identity of this provider has not been disclosed. YouTubers Coffeezilla and penguinz0 first alerted the public after discovering their personal data online; they attempted to notify Trump Mobile but without success until a researcher stepped in.
As of now, Trump Mobile is evaluating whether it needs to inform its customers about the exposure of this sensitive information. The incident highlights the increasing vulnerability of personal data in our interconnected world, where third-party services can pose significant risks.
