Google TV’s Gemini: Your virtual Swiss Army knife

With tools like sports briefs and deep dives, it’s clear AI is here to streamline your life

Google has unveiled three new Gemini-powered features for Google TV. The standout addition is visual responses, where asking about the Warriors game will bring up live scorecards alongside viewing options.

Deep dives allow users to explore complex topics in greater detail, with narrated visual breakdowns on health, economics and technology. Simply select ‘Dive deeper’ or use the Gemini tab for more information.

Sports briefs are a must-have for fans who want to stay updated on their favourite leagues without watching every live moment. These provide timely narrated overviews of events in the NBA, NHL and MLB.

The features are currently rolling out to users in the U.S. and Canada but plans to expand to Australia, New Zealand, and the U.K. this spring suggest a global reach for these AI-powered tools.

Disrupt 2026 awaits! TechCrunch’s event offers founders, investors and tech leaders a platform for growth, innovation and networking at its Founder Summit on March 13.
