Smart Bird Feeders: Worth the Hush-Hush Price?

As AI learns to identify your feathered friends, are these tech toys just for show or a bird’s best friend?

The smart bird feeder revolution is upon us. With cameras and solar panels, they’re more than just feeders—they’re the eyes of your garden. But are they worth the splurge?

Netvue’s Birdfy Lite Feeder, with its cheery yellow roof, has improved significantly since 2022. It offers a solid user-friendly app and decent AI bird ID, though it can be pricier than other models.

The Birdfy Metal 2 4K is the ultimate upgrade, boasting 4K video, advanced AI, and a tool-free assembly. However, its metal grate poses challenges for smaller birds, and I’m still waiting to see if it’s ready for prime time.

Camojojo’s Hibird Pro stands out with dual Wi-Fi compatibility, but its hefty build might require some muscle for installation. The app is less polished compared to others but offers 4K Ultra HD video and a bit of fun through the AI Q&A feature.
