Sony has unveiled an improved version of its wearable air conditioner, the Reon Pocket Pro Plus. This latest model features a cooler and more discreet design, perfect for those hot summer days or long office hours.
Unlike previous models that simply blast cold air, the new Reon Pocket Pro Plus uses flexible arms to hug your neck, with a chilled metal plate pressing against your skin. The company boasts a 20% improvement in cooling performance thanks to an 'evolved cooling algorithm.'
A key design update is the exhaust vent, which can now be extended and angled to direct warm air away from your body more effectively. This is especially useful for those wearing high-collared shirts or uniforms that might obstruct airflow.
Complementing the device is a new Reon Pocket Tag 2 sensor, smaller by 18% and designed for better accuracy in measuring temperature and humidity. This sensor can be attached to a strap or carabiner, keeping it away from your body but still providing accurate readings.
The Reon Pocket Pro Plus retails in Europe at €229/£199 (approximately $270), making it a significant investment for those in need of portable cooling. However, as always with Sony’s products, the US market remains uncharted territory for now.
