Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon revealed the company's ambitious plans for the next computing revolution, focusing on a range of AI-powered wearables from earrings to watches. The firm is launching two new products: Snapdragon Reality Elite, aimed at mixed-reality glasses, and START, a toolkit for developers aiming to integrate AI into their devices.
The Snapdragon Reality Elite promises significant leaps in performance, supporting 4.4K per-eye resolution with improved tracking and see-through capabilities. Meanwhile, the START package offers hardware modules and software, making it easier for companies to develop smart glasses and other forms of augmented reality technology.
Amon highlighted that this shift towards wearable tech is inevitable as more firms seek to gather real-world data from users, potentially challenging established players like Apple and Samsung. Qualcomm’s strategy seems clear: they want to be at the core of whatever replaces your smartphone.
With over 40 different designs in development, it's clear that Qualcomm sees a future where everything you wear could be a window into an AI-driven world. The question is: are we ready for a tech revolution sewn into our clothing?
