Siri has always been there on my Apple Watch, but watchOS 27 makes it feel like a true computing companion. The integration of Siri AI means I can do more than just set alarms or check the weather; now, I can browse playlists and manage notes from my wrist. It’s a step towards making the smartwatch as integral to daily life as your smartphone.
Despite feeling like one big step forward, there are still some hiccups. Siri AI is upfront about its limitations and offers alternatives, which can be reassuring when you’re mid-workout or trying to decide on a new playlist. The single tap gesture makes navigation smoother, but the learning curve might be steep for those unused to such intuitive controls.
Health tracking remains secondary, with Workout Buddy’s insights staying focused on personal achievements rather than offering proactive health advice. It’s a reminder that while tech is advancing, smartwatches still have their limitations when it comes to delivering meaningful health guidance.
The real joy comes from using common apps like Notes and Reminders more efficiently. Being able to check off tasks or pull up notes without pulling out my phone is incredibly handy, especially during busy errands like shopping for floss with my cat in tow.
