WhatsApp is expanding its reach across devices with new updates, including enhanced support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, direct sign-ups on iPads, and the ability to share music directly from streaming services.
The revamped experience on smart cars allows users to hear messages, view call history, and access contacts without having to use a phone. Meanwhile, iPad users can now create accounts independently of their smartphones and enjoy unique features like editing PDFs within the app.
Additionally, sharing music directly from Apple Music or Spotify has been made easier, allowing for more expressive status updates. This update also includes the ability to open and annotate PDFs right in WhatsApp, a handy feature for both web and desktop users.
The latest additions come as part of Meta's broader strategy to make WhatsApp a versatile cross-device communication platform, reflecting its ongoing efforts to evolve beyond just mobile messaging.
