AI note-taking app Granola is expanding to the Apple Watch with a new app that lets users record meetings and take notes without needing their smartphones.

The watch face can be set up for transcription at any time. It also alerts about upcoming meetings and syncs with the iOS version of the app, which launched last year. Co-founder Chris Pedregal believes it’s a handy way to capture in-person discussions during walking meetings, for example.

Granola tested its watch app on employees who already had Apple Watches, observing that their mobile usage switched significantly to the Watch. This might indicate a shift towards more wearable-based productivity tools.

In recent years, other dictation apps have also ventured into meeting notes and Apple Watch support. Companies like Monlogue offer similar features for both online and offline meetings, suggesting a growing market demand for these solutions.

Granola's Series C funding round of $125 million from Index Ventures highlights the company’s success in this space.
