Facebook's parent company, Meta, is setting its sights on a new chapter in enterprise technology. According to CEO Mark Zuckerberg, the firm sees substantial opportunities beyond just customer service chatbots, including direct sales of computing power and internal productivity tools for businesses.
The move signals a significant shift from the company's core business model, which relies heavily on advertising revenue. Zuckerberg hinted that Meta is exploring ways to monetize its powerful AI capabilities by offering them both to established advertisers and potentially larger enterprises.
“We view this as an extension of the sales and partnerships that we have with many millions of advertisers and hundreds of millions of small businesses,” he remarked, underlining the company’s confidence in expanding its influence beyond just social media giants.
Apart from business applications, the expansion into agentic AI suggests a future where consumers might enjoy personalized smart assistants and interactive virtual glasses that could change how we interact with our surroundings.
Zuckerberg also stressed the importance of strategic planning as Meta looks to balance its immediate financial needs with long-term technological advancements. The ultimate goal remains clear: personal superintelligence, which will require robust hardware infrastructure for seamless human-computer interaction.
