Aisata Diallo, 24, has revolutionized the process of hair braiding with her new tool, Plait Pilot, designed to ease the strain on hair braiders' bodies.
Through her company, Tressfecta, Diallo aims to alleviate the physical toll of braiding, a process that can take up to eight hours and often leads to cramping and carpal tunnel syndrome.
The tool automates the initial hair separation process, helping braiders manage their workload more efficiently. However, Diallo acknowledges the complexity of the project, noting that different textured hair types require specific handling.
Currently still in the prototype phase, Plait Pilot is being tested by stylists and braiders, with Diallo also attending TechCrunch events to showcase the product and connect with potential investors.
