SpaceX and Russia’s rockets take center stage while humanity eagerly awaits lunar missions.

Welcome to Edition 8.39 of the Rocket Report! This week, there is plenty going on in the world of powerful rockets.

Starship had a quiet week as SpaceX prepares for its next test flight, possibly scheduled for May. The outcome will offer insights into NASA’s plans for sending astronauts back to the Moon in 2028. Blue Origin’s first attempt to land its Blue Moon cargo lander on the lunar surface is also eagerly awaited.

Meanwhile, Russia’s Soyuz-5 rocket made its debut, marking a significant milestone. As always, we welcome reader submissions and encourage you to subscribe for more updates.

The US Space Force has released a list of 12 companies working on Space-Based Interceptors (SBIs) as part of the Golden Dome initiative. These SBIs aim to protect against drone, ballistic, hypersonic, and cruise missile attacks. The contracts are valued at up to $3.2 billion, with more substantial production deals to follow.

This week’s Rocket Report highlights the ongoing efforts in space exploration and defense. As humans continue to push boundaries, these developments represent significant steps forward for both scientific discovery and national security.
