Rocket Report: Boosting Data Centers in LEO; Russia’s ICBM Proves Its Mettle

As rockets launch humanity forward, Skyroot Aerospace aims to make a splash on the commercial space scene.

Welcome to Edition 8.41 of the Rocket Report! The stories of NASA's Space Launch System, SpaceX's Starship and Blue Origin's New Glenn rocket intertwine as they prepare for the Artemis III mission in low-Earth orbit.

Meanwhile, an Indian startup named Skyroot Aerospace is gearing up to launch its first orbital rocket within months. After India opened a pathway for private industry to build and launch rockets in 2020, Skyroot has raised $60 million and sees itself as pivotal in the commercial space race.

Founded by Pawan Kumar Chandana, who previously worked for the Indian space agency, Skyroot is based in Hyderabad. With a location near the equator and a burgeoning tech talent pool, India could soon have its own commercial rocket company launching payloads into orbit.

The readiness of these rockets will determine the schedule and content of NASA's Artemis III mission, but they also signify broader progress for space exploration. As more private companies enter the market, the future looks bright for space travel and data centers in low-Earth orbit (LEO).
