SpaceX's Starship rocket faced yet another delay on Thursday as the company struggled with ground system issues in South Texas. With high stakes for both SpaceX and the broader US spaceflight industry, Friday evening seems to be the next best shot.
In other aerospace news, Firefly Aerospace has expanded its Central Texas location, moving into a new headquarters that doubles their previous size. This move aims to support the growing workforce and accelerate spacecraft production.
The expansion includes two new buildings adjacent to Firefly's Cedar Park facility, which will house 144,000 square feet for various operations including spacecraft assembly, mission control, avionics, engineering, and business activities.
This new campus is less than 30 miles from the company’s Rocket Ranch in Briggs, where they conduct testing and vehicle integration. The ultimate goal is to scale up production capabilities beyond vehicle development.
