At Apple’s Surprise and Shine event, the latest iteration of wireless earbuds, AirPods 5, were unveiled. These upgraded earbuds boast enhanced active noise cancellation, volume control on the stem and improved Siri and Apple Intelligence features. Apple claims a 50% increase in noise reduction, making them the industry’s best. Users can now swipe up or down on the stem to adjust the volume without touching their phone. With the H2 chip, AirPods 5 also offer hands-free interaction with Siri, allowing for seamless command execution. The updated Siri is designed to better understand personal context, using information from messages, emails, and photos to provide relevant responses. Transparency mode has been improved, enabling users to hear their surroundings more naturally. Battery life has also been extended, with up to five hours of listening time and a total of 22 hours with the charging case. Preorders will start today, with deliveries set for September 18.
