The White House has declared that Donald Trump’s social media platform, Truth Social, is the ‘most powerful and popular’ in the world, despite it failing to break into the top ten most visited websites. This claim, according to White House spokesperson Davis Ingle, is based on the platform’s ability to give Trump an ‘authentic voice.’ Meanwhile, figures from Search Engine Land show that YouTube and Facebook dominate with billions of active users, while Truth Social’s traffic has been in decline.
Despite this, Truth Social recently launched a $100,000 per month subscription for early access to posts from Trump and other prominent users. The move has raised concerns about the platform’s financial viability and potential corruption.
According to data from Similarweb, Truth Social’s monthly visitors dropped by 36% in July 2026 compared to the same time last year. From January to July 2026, the platform averaged 28 million monthly visitors, a number that fell to 25 million during the first seven months. The platform’s traffic decline has not deterred the White House, which remains confident in its assessment of the platform’s popularity.
Notable among Trump’s posts are AI-generated images, including one showing his head on Hulk Hogan’s body and another depicting him hammering a cut-out of Iran with a flag. Ingle defends the platform as a place where Trump can communicate directly with the American people and the world, free from biased media distortions.
