The Soundboks Rider is a monumental speaker for monumental parties. With a sound pressure level of 118 dB, it's as loud as a rock concert, but at a hefty $600 price point, it might be overkill for most.
Its build is as tough as its sound, with a steel front grille and silicone rubber corners. The replaceable battery is a plus, but the single carry grip can be cumbersome. A dual grip would improve portability.
Despite its impressive volume, the sound quality is surprisingly clear. However, the setup can be a bit fiddly, with multiple pairing attempts needed before everything clicks.
While it's perfect for large gatherings or outdoor adventures, for the average user, a smaller, more affordable option from brands like Sony or JBL would suffice. The Rider is an excellent choice if you're hosting a party that can compete with a rock concert, but for most, it's a bit too loud and expensive.
