All roads lead to cable

Even streamers are rediscovering the charm of old-school channel surfing.

In their quest for viewers' attention, streaming giants are emulating cable's days of channel hopping, offering simpler, ad-supported options.

Back in the early days of Netflix, they experimented with downloading movies to physical boxes but pivoted to streaming, revolutionizing the entertainment industry. Now, streamers are mimicking cable's interface with FAST services, showing that simplicity might reign supreme.

As the streaming market matures, price hikes and ad-supported tiers are making it harder to attract and retain subscribers. FAST services, with their straightforward approach, are gaining traction, blending the best of both worlds.

Looking ahead, we may see more bundling and always-on channels, bringing us full circle back to cable. It's a fascinating loop, combining the best of old and new to meet modern viewing habits.
