Meta’s latest AI app, Muse, has already outperformed ChatGPT in its early mobile launches, with more downloads and active users within its first 12 days. According to market intelligence provider Apptopia, Muse has seen 1.8 million downloads compared to ChatGPT’s 1.3 million, with daily active users also showing a significant advantage. Muse's cross-platform availability in the U.S. and Canada likely contributed to its success.
The social giant’s cross-promotion strategy, honed with the success of Instagram’s Threads, may be giving Muse a boost. With over 95% of Muse users also being Facebook users, and a majority active on Instagram, Meta’s strategy seems to be paying off.
In the U.S. alone, Muse’s daily active users are higher than ChatGPT’s, with 642,000 compared to 231,000. Even when narrowed to iOS data, Muse still leads with 359,000 daily users compared to ChatGPT’s previous figures. However, Meta hasn’t yet shared public figures related to Muse’s early adoption.
Muse’s rapid ascent suggests it could be Meta’s newest top app, potentially outpacing ChatGPT in the process. As AI continues to revolutionise tech, this early success for Meta highlights the importance of strategic marketing and platform integration.
