Apple is rumoured to be gearing up for more hardware announcements before the end of the year, following the launch of the iPhone 18 Pro and the innovative folding iPhone Duo earlier this month. According to details uncovered in Apple’s own code by MacRumors contributor Aaron Perris, the new HomePod Mini will come in a range of new, more subdued colours, while the iPad mini 8 will get an upgrade to the A20 Pro chip, found in the latest iPhone models, and a relocated front-facing camera. The current version of the Apple TV, which is nearly four years old, is set to receive an update, though details are scarce.

The new HomePod Mini, much like its predecessor, will maintain a similar design but will now come in a variety of new shades, including green, pink, blue, white and black. This marks a departure from the vibrant hues of the current model, making it a more versatile addition to any room.

The new iPad mini 8 will see the introduction of a more powerful A20 Pro chip, the same used in the iPhone 18 Pro and Duo, marking a significant step in performance. The relocation of the front-facing camera to the landscape edge of the tablet and a groove on the top edge of the display, reminiscent of the iPhone’s design, suggest a subtle yet modern upgrade. Previous reports also suggest improved waterproofing and an OLED display, similar to the iPad Pro.

The Apple TV 4K, which is now in its fourth generation, will likely see minor design tweaks and possibly a performance upgrade with the A17 Pro chip. However, the exact changes and improvements are yet to be fully revealed. In 2024, we may see the integration of Apple’s in-house Bluetooth and Wi-Fi chip, the N1, into the next generation of the Apple TV.
