Apple has finally unveiled its long-rumored foldable: the iPhone Duo. With a 5.4-inch outer display and a 7.6-inch inner one, it’s a big bet from the tech giant, albeit a little late to the game compared to competitors like Samsung and Google.
The iPhone Duo’s inner screen features a matte finish and is almost impossible to find a crease with. While it doesn’t have Face ID, it uses Touch ID on the power button. The device has two cameras and is powered by the A20 Pro chipset. Preorders have been extraordinary, but delivery is delayed until 2027.
The iPhone Duo comes at a hefty price, starting at $1,999 for the base 256GB model. Repairs, without AppleCare Plus, are also expensive, with inner display damage costing a whopping $999. Despite the high costs, the extraordinary preorder demand suggests Apple might just have a hit on its hands.
For those eagerly waiting for the iPhone Duo, it’s worth noting that delivery estimates are already stretched into 2027. While the initial excitement may stem from the unique design, the practicality of such a device remains to be seen.
