Apple is giving its music streaming service a rebrand, introducing a new logo, an updated wordmark and a new sound composed by British producer Fred Again and Nest Acoustics. In a video, Apple shows how the music note logo and the wordmark appear underwater, with the water morphing to match the sound. It’s a cool video, and if it means better sound quality, count us in.
The new look is expected to roll out across platforms 'this week,' according to Wallpaper. I'm guessing that means it will show up in the final iOS 27.2 release, following the release candidate version of the update that launched this week.
The video is notably Apple-centric, with water reacting to sound in a way that only a tech giant could pull off. Still, it's a fascinating way to experience the transformation of a logo.
It will be interesting to see if this rebrand affects the user experience in any significant way. After all, a logo change might just be the tip of the iceberg for future updates.
As for the sound, it will be intriguing to hear how it enhances the listening experience. We'll have to wait and see if it's worth upgrading our earbuds just yet.
