At the recent CinemaCon event, Lucasfilm unveiled the final trailer for their new spinoff film in the Star Wars universe. The trailer promises a continued adventure for Grogu and his father-figure Mandalorian companion Din Djarin (played by Pedro Pascal), with familiar characters like Ward (Sigourney Weaver) and Rotta the Hutt (Jeremy Allen White) reprising their roles.
The official logline teases a post-Empire era where the New Republic, led by Din Djarin and Grogu, faces off against surviving Imperial warlords. The cast list reads like a reunion of old favourites, with new additions such as Anzellans from The Rise of Skywalker joining the fray.
The film is expected to debut later this year, providing a much-needed distraction for fans amid the 2023 Hollywood strikes that have delayed season four of The Mandalorian. With Grogu’s popularity still soaring, it seems the little green alien is here to stay.
For now, we can only hope the hype surrounding this new addition lives up to its predecessor. Given the success of The Mandalorian, Lucasfilm surely has high hopes – and perhaps a few surprises up their sleeve too.
