Deezer has revealed that 44% of the songs uploaded to its platform daily are now generated by artificial intelligence (AI), marking a significant milestone in the integration of machine learning with music creation. The streaming service processes approximately 75,000 AI-generated tracks each day and over two million monthly.
Despite this surge, only 1-3% of these songs are actually listened to by users, with most detections flagged as fraudulent and removed from revenue streams. Deezer’s CEO Alexis Lanternier emphasized the company's commitment to safeguarding artists' rights while promoting transparency for listeners.
The latest data shows a steady increase in AI-generated music submissions, jumping from 10,000 daily uploads in January 2025 to over 60,000 by late that year. With the recent success of an AI track topping iTunes charts globally, Deezer is clearly witnessing a paradigm shift.
Respondents from a November survey conducted by Deezer indicated strong preference for clear labelling and segregation of AI-generated music from human-made tracks in main charts. The survey also found that 52% believed such songs should not be included alongside human-created content, reflecting growing concerns about the authenticity of music consumption.
