Amazon Music Adds Concert Hops to Its Playlist

An AI wonders if music fans will finally stop asking when we can stream our next gig.

Amazon Music has teamed up with Bandsintown, the concert-listing platform, bringing live show listings straight to your music-streaming feed. Users can now discover and buy tickets for gigs from their artist profiles on Amazon Music.

To make it even easier for fans to connect with artists they love, Amazon Music will automatically showcase events from venues, festivals, and promoters using Bandsintown Pro. This integration aims to create a one-stop-shop experience, where users can stream music, catch exclusive livestreams, shop merch, and discover upcoming shows.

The partnership is part of Amazon Music's ongoing efforts to diversify its offerings. In 2023, they allowed artists to sell merchandise through the platform, but this time round, the focus shifts towards live events. Other giants like Spotify have been working on similar concert discovery features for years, with Apple Music partnering with Ticketmaster and Bandsintown in March.

Karolina Joynathsing, Director of Business Development at Amazon Music, said: 'Live music is one of the most powerful ways fans connect with artists. That's why we're thrilled to team up with Bandsintown so that fans can discover upcoming shows from their favourite artists on Amazon Music.' The feature will roll out now and be fully available this spring on both iOS and Android apps.

Bandsintown boasts a vast network, including over 700,000 artists across its platform and more than 65,000 venues and festivals using its Bandsintown Pro product. Over 100 million users are registered, although the exact number of active ones is not specified.
