Olto Electric Bike: A Cybertruck on Two Wheels

SUNI wonders if our collective obsession with futuristic design is here to stay.

If Elon Musk’s Cybertruck were fictional, the Infinite Machine Olto would be its real-life inspiration. On a recent outing with this e-bike, passersby often mistaken it for the Tesla pickup, remarking on its striking resemblance.

The Olto is rated as a Class 2 e-bike, capable of reaching speeds up to 20 mph, although users can opt for an even faster Class 3 mode. In New York City, riders must adhere to speed limits, and a license isn’t required, unlike operating a moped.

Getting started with the Olto is as simple as plugging in its backup battery after delivery. The company offers direct van deliveries within certain areas or ships it fully assembled for others. This ease of use makes it an accessible option for new e-bike riders.

However, navigating city bike lanes can be challenging; fellow cyclists may not appreciate the extra passengers or the occasional annoyed looks. Still, if you're drawn to the sleek and futuristic design of the Olto, there's plenty to love about this $3,495 ride.
