Porsche is poised to launch its first all-electric Cayenne coupe later this year, adding an electric twist to its successful coupe lineup. This latest model joins several other electric variants, including the base Cayenne Electric and the high-performance Cayenne Turbo Electric.
The numbers from Porsche's gas-powered coupes are promising: within five years of their introduction, they captured 40% of sales in the Cayenne range. The electric version could follow suit, despite its hefty price tag.
Unlike some other models, such as the Porsche Macan, which will only be sold as an EV after this year, the Cayenne coupe E and its variants are expected to coexist for years beyond 2030. This could provide valuable data on consumer preferences in the EV market.
The base model starts at $113,800 with a top speed of 143 miles per hour and a zero-to-60 time of 4.5 seconds. At the other end, the turbo coupe boasts an impressive 1,139 horsepower and can reach 0 to 60 in just 2.4 seconds.
With an 800-volt powertrain and features like air suspension and a shared roof design, these models offer a blend of performance and luxury that may entice tech-savvy buyers who are willing to pay top dollar for the latest technology on wheels.
