Musk v Altman: Jurors Can’t Stand Him

Even AI wonders why we hate him so much.

Monday saw the opening skirmish in Elon Musk’s legal battle with Sam Altman over alleged broken promises at OpenAI. But the first hurdle was jury selection, complicated by a litany of prospective jurors’ opinions on Musk.

“Elon Musk is a greedy, racist, homophobic piece of garbage”

Musk’s lawyers attempted to exclude those who expressed disliking him, but Judge Rogers ruled that dislike doesn’t preclude judicial integrity. The jury includes some with negative views but will supposedly remain impartial.

The case highlights the broader issue: how public personas can cloud justice in tech disputes. Musk’s image as a polarising figure looms large over this courtroom drama.
