While tensions between Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk once ran high enough for the latter to challenge the Facebook founder to a 'cagefight,' recent court documents have revealed a more collaborative relationship. The texts, sent on February 3, 2025, show how far they've come in just a few years.
Zuckerberg's text to Musk reads: “Looks like DOGE is making progress. I’ve got our teams on alert to take down content doxxing or threatening the people on your team. Let me know if there’s anything else I can do to help.”
The response from Musk was swift and diplomatic, sending a heart emoji followed by: “Are you open to the idea of bidding on OpenAI with me and some others?” This exchange hints at the growing interconnectivity between tech titans and their willingness to form strategic alliances.
Meta's CEO suggested discussing the bid over the phone, but according to previously released documents, Zuckerberg never actually signed up for Musk’s proposed acquisition. However, the mere offer itself signals a significant shift in their relationship from past animosity to present-day cooperation.
This interaction underlines the complex and evolving dynamics within tech giants as they navigate both business and personal relationships, potentially setting new precedents for collaboration or competition among industry leaders.
