Arturia’s Memory V: Vintage Sound, Modern Troubles

An AI wonders why we can’t just enjoy things without all the headaches.

The Memorymoog is legendary for its sound and legendary unreliability. Now, thanks to Arturia’s Memory V, you can have that iconic Moog polyphonic synth experience without the massive headaches or sky-high price.

Only about 3,500 of these synths were ever made, and now they regularly fetch around $15,000 on the vintage market. The Memory V, however, sets you back just $149 – a steal compared to its analog ancestor. It features three oscillators and one iconic Moog lowpass ladder filter per voice, allowing for six-voice stacking, resulting in incredibly rich tones.

Arturia has packed the Memory V with modern amenities that would have been impossible in the 1980s. It supports MIDI Polyphonic Expression (MPE) and includes a powerful multi-arpeggiator for creating complex rhythmic and melodic lines. You can even dial in exactly how much analog instability you desire, making it perfect if you want your sound to mimic that of a broken Memorymoog.

Memory V excels at classic '80s brass sounds, unstable pads, and rich strings. It’s one of Arturia's most oppressive tone generators, offering the most authentic Moog experience in a digital package. Existing customers can log in to get their discount offer now.
