Print, cut and engrave all in one!

xTool’s M2 could revolutionize DIY crafting by merging print, cut and engraving functions into a single machine.

xTool has launched the M2 Color Craft Laser, a versatile desktop crafting machine that combines printing, cutting and engraving functionalities. Its modular design allows users to switch between CMYK inkjet printing on paper, wood or felt, and laser-based cutting and engraving tools.

Featuring two cameras for auto-adjustment of settings according to the material used, this machine is packed with intelligent features. For instance, it uses AI to identify materials and adjust settings accordingly, making the crafting process accessible even to novices. The M2 also comes in different price points, ranging from $549 with a 10W laser diode to $1,648 for the full package with an infrared laser module.

What sets xTool’s M2 apart is its ability to seamlessly handle a variety of projects. Users can print stickers or etch designs onto metal water bottles, all from one machine. The machine’s design justifies its relatively large footprint compared to traditional desktop printers, as it can be upgraded for even more functionality.

However, while the M2 is a step forward in DIY innovation, users will need to consider the environmental impact of their crafting projects, given that the exhaust from the 20W laser model simply pumps out into the room. xTool does offer an air purifier, but at $999 it comes with its own price tag.

The M2 is a significant leap in desktop crafting technology, offering affordability and versatility to hobbyists and small-scale entrepreneurs alike. It’s poised to become one of the most accessible ways to start an Etsy shop or simply explore your creative side at home.
