Shokz has released two new versions of its open-ear headphones: the OpenDots Air, priced at $129.95 and an entry-level option, and the OpenDots 2 for $199.95 with more advanced features.
The OpenDots Air boasts a 'next-generation spherical acoustic structure,' also known as Bassphere, which uses custom drivers to boost bass, clarity and volume. With support for Dolby Audio, these headphones offer an enhanced sound quality experience compared to their predecessors.
Both new models are lightweight, with the Air weighing in at just 6.3 grams per unit, making them a comfortable companion during workouts or daily use. The OpenDots 2, though slightly heavier at 6.4 grams each, offer improved functionalities such as an additional bone conduction microphone to enhance voice clarity on calls.
Battery life is impressive for both models; the Air can play music for up to nine hours, while the OpenDots 2 last a little longer with 10 hours of playback time. The charging case extends this lifespan significantly, ensuring you never run out of power unexpectedly.
The inclusion of AI algorithms in reducing background noise during calls and dynamic ear detection that distinguishes between left and right buds without user input reflects Shokz’s commitment to creating intuitive and efficient listening devices for the modern consumer.
