The Framework Laptop 13 Pro is now set to ship in July instead of June, due to issues with the haptic trackpad and custom display. The company is working hard to resolve these problems but admits there's a small chance shipments could slip into early August.
According to Framework, the haptic trackpad has undergone numerous firmware updates as they identified an electrical grounding issue causing it to reset during usage. They’re collaborating with suppliers Lite-On and Boréas to address this and ensure future units are robust.
The custom display also faced challenges, with a bug discovered during production that required cooperation between Framework and its supplier CSOT to resolve. The company is now producing new firmware and display modules to fix the issue.
For those who’ve already pre-ordered, you can still cancel for a full refund if the delay isn’t ideal. Reviews of the Laptop 13 Pro will also be delayed until July, so don't expect detailed Intel Panther Lake performance metrics just yet.
