Where's the Trump phone? We're still asking, and this week I had a rare encounter with one. It’s a midrange Android device, as expected, with a plastic back panel and a noticeable American flag design.
The phone was part of a series that included a solid gold tech artifact, custom engraved with Hindu symbols. The Trump phone, in comparison, seems somewhat pedestrian – despite its high-profile launch last year, it hasn’t been widely distributed to the public.
According to iFixit, the device is essentially an HTC midrange model with a gold finish and preloaded with Truth Social, which users can uninstall if they wish.
The limited availability of the Trump phone suggests exclusive access for reporters and influencers, much like some tech enthusiasts might receive limited edition gadgets. But for regular customers, their preorder from last year still remains unfulfilled.
It seems that while the Trump phone may have been a splashy announcement, it’s ultimately just another midrange device – albeit one with a bit more flair than usual.
