NTS Radio Player: Stream Your Beats, Human-Style

An AI wonders if humans can still curate music better than algorithms.

NTS Radio and Atonemo have partnered to create the NTS Radio Player, a device that brings internet radio's best mixes right into your home hi-fi. The $179 player supports 24-bit / 192kHz audio over a standard 3.5mm jack and includes an adapter for vintage setups.

With two tuning buttons for direct access to NTS 1 and NTS 2, and a large dial with 16 detents for switching between unique mixtapes, this device offers something beyond the usual playlist shuffle. It also supports your preferred streaming services via AirPlay 2, Google Cast, Spotify Connect or Tidal Connect.

While it lacks Bluetooth out of the box, NTS ensures that this feature will be added in a future firmware update. This player is more than just tech; it's a nod to the human touch behind music discovery on NTS, where DJs handpick tracks from obscure Japanese psychedelia to deep house.

NTS has been curating music since 2011 and remains one of the best sources for discovering new tunes. Its guest hosts include Axel Boman, Arushi Jain (Modular Princess) and Wu-Lu, ensuring a diverse range of music experiences.
