Google’s NotebookLM turns notes into TikToks

Are we becoming a society of talking emu avatars?

Google's NotebookLM is revolutionizing how researchers digest information with its new feature: 60-second AI-generated clips, complete with narrative and imagery, inspired by your research notes. Think TikTok meets academic rigor.

The demo shows Australia’s failed war on emus through a paper-cutout style animation, narrated by AI. This addition to NotebookLM's suite of tools includes AI podcasts, cinematic videos, and visual explainers, all designed to make digesting complex data easier.

Users can create these clips directly from the app or web interface, choosing their topic and hitting 'Generate.' For now, the feature is only available in English for Pro and Ultra subscribers, but free users may soon join the fun.

This innovation raises questions about how technology will shape our interaction with knowledge. Will we soon be more entertained than educated? Time will tell.
