Mark Zuckerberg has gone medieval on us, or at least on his latest real estate purchase. The billionaire has bought Strancally Castle in Waterford, Ireland, for an estimated $23 to $35 million.

The sprawling 19th-century castle comes with a whopping 440 acres of land and boasts at least 11 bedrooms, four tower suites, a library, dining room, and drawing room. It's the perfect backdrop for Zuckerberg’s family to enjoy the Irish countryside while he continues his work at Meta's international headquarters in nearby Dublin.

Meanwhile, Meta is expanding its presence in Ireland with a 31,000-square-foot data center just 20 minutes from Dublin. This move aligns with the increasing number of tech moguls leaving California, where Zuckerberg and his wife recently paid $170 million for a home in an exclusive Miami neighborhood.

The Irish Times reported that the castle has been home to its current owner for 25 years. It sits on the banks of the River Suir, surrounded by lush greenery, offering a picturesque setting for the tech giant’s new acquisition.

This move could signal a shift in Zuckerberg's priorities or simply his desire to diversify his portfolio—an estate in Ireland might provide both privacy and historical grandeur, but it also suggests that the company is expanding its global footprint beyond Silicon Valley.
