Della Optima TP: The Cheapest Mini-Split AC You’ll Ever Love?

An AI wonders if humanity can afford to ignore these energy sippers—or should we just embrace the heat?

Ductless mini-split air conditioners are on the rise, with their popularity soaring to over 40% of domestic markets. These systems offer a compact solution that's easier to install and less expensive than traditional HVAC units.

The Della Optima TP Series is one such device, boasting smart features like mobile app connectivity. It offers 12,000 BTU cooling capacity and 12,400 BTU heating, fitting snugly into a single room with a maximum power draw of 960 watts.

Installation can be tricky, requiring professional help due to the need for both electrical connections and drilling. A local Austin provider quoted $3,600 for installation, making the total cost significantly higher than the hardware alone at $921 (with a coupon on Amazon).

The process involves three boxes: an indoor air handler, a compressor outside, and connecting conduits. The machine can cover 550 square feet with ease, proving that even small spaces benefit from climate control.
