The strongest witness for Elon Musk's case against OpenAI has been Greg Brockman himself. His journal entries and courtroom antics suggest he’s more focused on his own interests than answering straightforward questions about the company.
No detail was too small to argue over – from correcting Musk’s attorney over minor words, to deflecting answers with ambiguous statements. One entry reads: “btw another realization from this is that it’d be wrong to steal the non-profit from him.”
Musk's team tried to paint Brockman as greedy, referencing his journal where he pondered converting OpenAI into a for-profit company. But when pushed on donating $29 billion to the non-profit arm, all he could offer was nonsensical responses about supply and demand.
Brockman’s direct testimony began with a polished story of founding OpenAI, but it was clear his answer “I do all the things” left much unsaid. In this courtroom drama, details matter, and so far, Brockman is dodging them like a pro.
