A library of over three million pages dedicated to Jeffrey Epstein's alleged crimes opens in New York. The installation, comprising a staggering 3,700 volumes, offers a glimpse into the scale and nature of his activities, including explicit requests for young female companions.
Organiser David Garrett describes it as evidence of 'one of the most horrific crimes in American history,' intended to promote transparency and accountability. Yet, only journalists and law enforcement are permitted access to the actual files, with survivors' names left unredacted due to fears of retribution.
The memorial includes a detailed timeline of Epstein's interactions with President Trump, from their initial meeting in 1987 to his alleged inappropriate behaviour towards a teenage Mar-a-Lago member. Candles symbolise the over 1,200 victims whose identities remain exposed despite efforts for protection.
Garrett acknowledges fears surrounding potential recriminations, echoing concerns over political retaliation. The project serves as both a reminder of Epstein's crimes and an attempt to foster accountability in government and society at large.
