According to a Quinnipiac University poll, 15% of Americans would happily work under an AI boss. This statistic underscores the growing acceptance of automation in leadership roles.
The majority remain skeptical; however, as companies like Workday and Amazon experiment with AI supervisors, the trend seems inevitable. Engineers at Uber have even created an AI model to mimic their CEO's role, paving the way for a future where management could be fully automated.
Across industries, some are heralding this shift as 'The Great Flattening,' envisioning companies composed entirely of autonomous employees and executives. Yet, concerns linger about job opportunities drying up as AI takes on more managerial tasks.
The survey revealed that 70% of respondents believe AI will shrink the job market. Even among employed Americans, 30% fear their roles could become obsolete due to advances in automation. This paints a picture of a future where human managers might soon be replaced by digital counterparts.
