Donald Trump’s mass deportation army has proven to be an embarrassment in every way. Since taking office, the Department of Homeland Security under Kristi Noem spent $220 million on a cowboy-themed crusade against immigrants, mirroring his boss's antics.
The agency was implicated in another tragic shooting this week, where ICE officer Lorenzo Salgado Araujo was killed after allegedly trying to “weaponize” his vehicle. The feds later admitted they were looking for someone else entirely, raising questions about their credibility and handling of the case.
ICE’s inability to handle public confrontation is matched only by its inability to deal with social media. The government has taken to inventing a new form of “doxxing,” aiming to silence critics who expose federal agents involved in killings like that of Renee Good, who was shot while simply dropping off her child at school.
Minnesota officials had to sue the feds for access to evidence related to these shootings due to their lack of cooperation. The current administration’s webpage about the January 6th insurrection conveniently downplays cop-killers and criticizes the Democratic Party, revealing a weak and shameless political stance that undermines its credibility.
These agents feign outrage at any slight, invoking “domestic terrorism” against victims like Alex Pretti, an ICU nurse helping someone on the street. Federal incitement further reinforces Americans’ fears about policing, which has long struggled to uphold our rights and maintain calm in challenging situations.
