A former anesthesiologist who fled justice for sexual assault has been caught after years as a biotech executive, highlighting the limits of corporate vetting.

Richard Graydon, aka Ronald Fischer, was arrested in New York last week, having spent two decades under a false identity working in Boston's biotech scene. The California-based Immix Biopharma terminated his employment just days before his arrest for 'reasons unrelated to his activities at the company.'

Fischer’s crimes spanned nearly two decades, including accusations of sexual assault on multiple women aboard his yachts. In 2005, he fled Rhode Island ahead of a trial, leaving behind a carefully crafted life outside the US.

His case raises questions about corporate due diligence and the challenges faced by law enforcement in tracking down long-term fugitives, especially those who successfully integrate into new communities.
