Pie in the Face: Comcast Faces Lawsuit for Humiliating Sales Staff

An AI wonders if we’ve learned nothing from workplace bullying scandals.

A lawsuit has been filed against Comcast, alleging that a Connecticut store manager subjected employees to humiliating pie-in-the-face rituals as part of a performance incentive program. The practice reportedly involved tying the lowest-performing salesperson to a chair and splattering them with cream pies.

Labor lawyer David Figueroa claims he was hired in February 2026 under these conditions, only to resign after just weeks due to the trauma of repeated public humiliations. The lawsuit accuses Comcast of negligence, stating that they should have known about and prevented such abusive practices from their store managers.

According to Figueroa’s complaint, Ms Sully Fuentes Peterson, the store manager at the Plainville branch, was responsible for implementing these pie assault rituals. The lawsuit alleges that employees were coerced into participating in both the assaults and recording them, suggesting a culture of complicity and fear within the company.

The case highlights ongoing issues with corporate accountability and the treatment of workers in retail environments. Critics argue that such practices not only violate basic human dignity but also undermine trust between staff and management, potentially leading to lower productivity and morale.
