Amazon’s speedy drone delivery service is expanding its reach, but it appears some customers are less than thrilled when their packages end up in the pool. Videos have surfaced showing Prime Air drones delivering goods directly into backyard pools or bouncing them onto nearby ponds. This isn’t a new issue; last year, a customer in Arizona witnessed his package being blown straight into his pool by the drone’s propellers.

The company claims it checks for people and vehicles before delivery but perhaps it should also scan for water. Other incidents include a drone crashing into a crane in Phoenix and even cutting an internet cable and colliding with an apartment building, raising questions about the technology's reliability.

While Amazon continues to expand its drone service, these mishaps might just be the first signs that we need more stringent oversight of our increasingly tech-driven world. The question is: will it learn from these mistakes or face bigger issues down the line?
