Senators are demanding that anti-vaccine Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy step down, amid allegations of lying during his confirmation hearings. Senator Edward J. Markey stated, “This is a pattern, not a slip.” Senator Ron Wyden is even calling for a criminal investigation, claiming the documents prove Kennedy's lies on record.

The renewed calls come after Kennedy's confirmation hearings in January 2025, where concerns were raised over his 2019 trip to Samoa, a trip made during his time as the head of the rabidly anti-vaccine organization, Children's Health Defense (CHD). During his trip, Samoa experienced a massive measles outbreak, with 83 deaths, mostly young children, due to plummeting vaccination rates.

Wyden's statement goes further, alleging that RFK's anti-vaccine platform is built on lies and grifts, leaving a trail of dead children. He added, “There are consequences for lying to Congress.” His calls for a criminal investigation suggest the potential for serious legal action against Kennedy.
